About Department of Science

Department of Science at the College of Basic Education, University of Duhok has been established in the academic year 2017. It teaches the main subjects in science disciplines of chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, environmental, computer and other related subjects of science.

Mission of the Department

Teaching undergraduates’ students the varies science subjects to prepare them to be teachers for the primary and secondary school students. Also to prepare the students to be professional teachers who have the capacity and motivation to continue their professional development and to employ a variety of teaching methods to suit the needs of their pupils and to actively promote staff professional development and to encourage skills in a variety of teaching methods. The mission and the focus of the Science Department is to present science as a rational and systematic observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, application and theoretical explanation of natural phenomena.

Education with Teacher Qualification

The program will take four years to complete and students will be qualified for Bachelor of Education degree to teach in schools.
